FOLLICULITIS:

Folliculitis is a common skin condition that’s often caused by an infected or inflamed hair follicle. It can look similar to acne and be uncomfortable or itchy.

FURUNCLE:

Furuncles (boils) are tender nodules or pustules that involve a hair follicle and are caused by staphylococcal infection.

CARBUNCLE:

This is a group of infected hair follicles with pus. A carbuncle is larger and deeper than a boil. Carbuncles are often found on the back of the neck or thigh.

- Carbuncle is a deep, painful skin infection that typically appears as a cluster of boils, which are pus filled lumps.
- It usually occurs when multiple hair follicles become infected, causing discomfort and sometimes fever.
- Causative organism: Staphylococcus aureus
- Its common in individuals with:

1. Weak immune system
2. Poor hygiene

- Whitish, bloody fluid leaking from the boils

I have used it for furuncles with a dry skin.
The boils were small (cat-boils), very sensitive and seemed to come in crops, more about the neck and shoulders.
For carbuncles with profuse sanguine-purulent discharge, marked prostration (the tired feeling), some rise in temperature and large sloughing.
They also come in crops and mostly about the neck, sometimes on perineum

Dose: Five drops of the 1st every three hours and apply, hot, a solution of 1 part of the tincture to 9 of water, change the application often

1. Tarent-c : Tarentula Cubensis

Terrible, burning, stinging pain in all septic states.
Atrocious burning pain, hardness of part.
Skin-Carbuncles, even to sloughing, with great prostration and diarrhoea.
Abscess, boils, felons, affected part becomes dark red, purplish swelling of skin and tissue.

2. Silicea

Clinical Abscesses, Boil, fistula etc
It promotes the expulsion of pus and accelerates the healing of wound once it begins to drain.

It is used when carbuncle is extremely painful, tender, and inflamed.
